isopod....
From the ups and downs, everyone's comments, etc.... what you do is your choice, if you feel comfortable trying to kill them off, with fish, or other predators. If you really wanted to be safe, might want to do what some people had suggested, in cleaning out the tank, drying the rock out, that will kill the pods, at least IME should, though some marine biologist might say otherwise, though I have nothing to back up either claim other than usually water borne critters need water to survive.
So I'd clean it out, get rid of your sand, dry out the LR so it's dead, get a quarantine tank/bucket set up, after you get the LR all dried, maybe a week in a warm dry place.... get another piece of LR for your tank as seed, and after you cure the now dead rock, put it back in the tank and eventually will become live again. Maybe with not all the goodies, and creepy crawlers that you had before, but that's a good thing at least in this case right?
I dunno what you've worked out with Trop, if anything, but I'm sure they could lend some advice in their thoughts and help out where they can. like a lot of the LFS spoken about on this site that are local, they're not trying to be *insert censored word here*, but they want your repeat business, and you to be happy, since happy people bring in more business than unhappy ones. If nothing else, maybe there's a reefer near you who wouldn't mind doing a rock swap. I think Tazzy had posted that he's looking for rock, perhaps if you go with the dry out method, he could give you a couple pieces of LR for a couple pieces of yours after it's dried out, possibly giving him a few LB. extra for his gas money or what not. I think he'll be looking to get rid of a decent size rock with a bunch of GSP on it soon too, that's another seeder for the tank if you go that route.
I know things can get pretty intense emotionally speaking on boards because you can't tell facially and with body language how the person is "speaking" to you, and it's good to see things had settled down a bit after escalating. Keep thinking outside the box for alternate solutions, and in the least feel free to message me if you want to talk about reef stuff or whatever, all I ask is if you make me drive out there you have a cold beer for me.
