I have seen this one before, I love this statement....

At this time I am having problems with my steel above the water line rusting. I built 10 access doors to feed the fish etc. and they are rusting also. I had problems with the floor above the tank after the first year because the floor materials absorbed water and weakened. I then had to replace the floor. I heat my tank with a house oil fired hot water tank. I have used 2 swimming pool heaters before this. But I had many problems 1. the first one ran great for 5 years but it had been installed improperly by the seller and caused a fire. The second one was far too big and it started leaking in the boiler after 1 and a half years. I use a 600 lb sand filter on the mega tank, the natural lava rock filtration, I don't over feed and I do about 10,000 gallon water changes every week.

Yikes. I also have wondered in the picture of the guy holding the fish in the net, what the hell is he wearing?

WOW WOW WOW...that has to be the most tragically hideous thing ive ever seen.

If that guy spent the time at work instead of building that disaster, he could have had 10,000 gallon exhibit....installed.

He clearly worked his butt off, ill give him that...but come on...who can lie to themselves like that and say its looks good?

Yea I remember this one too. Amazing thing to me is that the owner is physically impaired so everything was done by his bro and others...lots of commitment to that one...while it lasted.

Reminds me of Mr. 4000, who I believe is/was from Michigan.

I do believe copper is harmful to even freswater inverts.
Most definently is harmfull. My favorite product to this day that I've ever seen in this hobby (be it FW or SW) is called "Snail Away", which is just liquid copper

worth the rEAD

that was just a monum=mental waaste of time he rented a backhoe, rigged a bug zapper made a bomb shelter into something all i can really say is just wow one million imes wow red green would be real proud though :eek:rder

i can't wait until next week on shade tree aquarium's when he show's us how to use a hair dryer as a power head! wow! i think thats the same guy that spraid him self with the doe in heat stuff and was beaten by that large buck!

I simply give the guy credit, it was a good concept. But poorly executed. Had he done a few things more fish/invert safe, it would've been very cool indeed. But he used copper and brass fittings and pipe......there is such a thing as google "is copper safe in a invert/fish/planted tank ?" . Either way he gets some credit for the concept, I'd love a outdoor tank on my deck. But it's just not worth it.
