Yes, its true, a local reefer (me) took home the big prize at IMAC.

I wanted to give a BIG shout out and THANK YOU THANK YOU! Thank you ! to Ken (Mustang) & Tim & John for thier huge amounts of help in taking the beast down and helping us haul the parts back home.

And thanks to all I didn't mention specifically, especially those that purchased fish.

Everything made it back in one piece - the fish are all doing well in a Q tank while we set the 120 back up. The corals are all in our 46 bow w/halides - they are GORGEOUS!

Just FYI, it was a 120 gallon AGA dual overflow w/ stand pipes & a beautiful maple cabinet and stand. Lights included were one pair of 55W PC's and another strip of 3 NO's. It came with two skimmers, (one is a Kent Nautilus) and a return pump that we don't know the make of. Also various bits of salt & chemical additives.

I think there was about 50 fish from ORA - I sold half of them off. We found three more DOA that hid in the live rock after we got home, and lost one ocellaris last night. The rest are doing well (pair of maroons, saddlebacks, ocellaris, clarkii, gold california gobies, neon gobies, one each of orchid, striped & sunrise dottybacks.) About 6 SPS frags, 2 zooanthid covered rocks & 2 colt corals. I think we figure at least 100 pounds of live rock. Mostly cured :)

I did the cartwheel because my husband and I were talking about silly things we'd do if we won (thinking that we wouldn't win at all, as it usually goes). I won. So I did the cartwheel.

I had a great time at IMAC before the raffle. Winning was a nice perk.

Thanks again to all who helped!

Thanks All! I'm pretty stoked about the whole thing as well.

Adam101 - Most of these conferences (such as the Midwest Marine Conference & IMAC) have mondo raffles with items donated by either exhibitors or other vendors. You buy tickets, stick them in the container representing the item you want to win, and thats about that. They have everything raffled off from bags of salt, to books, to these fully stocked tanks (the other tank was a 90 gallon "wave" tank - it was pretty cool too). Tickets are $1 each or 12 for $10 - so my husband and I got 12 each.

I only put three tickets in the fish tank one.........some people had up to 40 tickets in there! I'm not sure how many tickets total there were for this tank. But it was a lot :)

Peanut uh - i won't be giving up engineering anytime soon to be a gymnast.......it just goes to show what all my years of cheerleading many moons ago have given me :D

Congrats!!!! That is one sweet tank!!

....Which lead to my question... Who made the hood and stand?
That is exactly what I am looking for to match the kitchen in the new house! (hint: If you decide to sell the hood and stand keep me in mind!)

Glad everything made it back in one piece

As nice as allglass was to donated that to the raffle I could have kicked there butts for glueing all the PVC fittings

I figured there might be a few in the rocks as much as I shook the rock I had a feeling that might happen

I am just glad it all worked out.
That is one nice setup I really like the maple stand

BTW the return pump is the new Quiet one pump

that rocks!!!!

Congrats on the tank and livestock!!!

you will need to host a swap and let us all bask in the grerastest thing on earth......A FREE REEF TANK WITH ALL THE TRIMMINGS!

yeah, that was pretty stinky with them glueing or siliconing everything together. Troy is in the process of planning the plumbing all out so we can easily take it down and move it again. Not planning on moving anytime soon, but in two to three years that will definitely come in handy.

Thanks for all the well wishes, it is a dream come true.

Corals are all still doing beautifully, but I have lost a couple more fish :( to the dreaded ich! luckily I"m a fish whisperer, so its just a matter of time until the rest are all in good health.

wow that is sweet. congratulations. if you want to get rid of any of those fish let me know =]. cept I think I live on the other side of the state from you. I won a shirt once when I was 7 yrs old. my pig was the first pig to find the candy at the end of the maze. Held at the allegan County Fair. Then 2 days ago I won $100 playing a scratch off ticket. I think I have maybe spent $20 on scratch off tickets in my whole life.
