I'm supposed to feed them? I thought they looked hungry :) Actually I feed about every other day. Mostly New Life Spectrum pellets and about once a week I feed Prime Reef frozen. I should feed my LPS's more often but am lazy. How often does everyone feed there LPS's? I have two Candy Canes, Maze Brain, Favia, and An Acan.

After reading the first page of this thread, i feel strange.

I have a light load (4 small fish in a 50 gallon cube), so i only feed every other day or sometimes every 3rd day. Even then, i feed a mix of mysis/brine.

I do Coral Frenzy twice a week.

I feed my occi clowns flakes, in small amounts, 2 or 3 times a day. My blood shrimp usually gets a few of the flakes and a small piece of krill every day. My duncan and dendro get some cyclopeeze and or krill/mysis minimum once a day. Again pretty small amounts. All other corals get a mix of coral frenzy and cyclop every other day. Of course the clowns and shrimp eat quite a bit of the cyclops themselves. When I feed the corals it's a spot feed from a syringe with a piece of hard tubing on it, rather than just dumping a bunch in the tank. My clam gets 2cc of DT phyto twice a week also with the syringe. I have the tank at work so Im not just sitting home all day looking at the tank, I sit around at work all day and look at the tank, lol.

My duncan and dendro are growing like crazy, and my blood shrimp molts every two weeks, so I think they like all the grub.

Feeding...

I feed my GSclown 2-3 times a day. Small amounts each time. Sun coral and corals every other day. They seem to love it. I use the 20oz pop bottle method with a hole in the screw-on bottle top to fit in a plastic suringe with food in it. There are also a few holes cut in the side of the 20oz for circulation and excess food to escape for the rest of the corals and the clown. I just squirt in the food, let the sun coral eat for about 20mins. before removing the bottle. Sun coral seems to enjoy this method~ its growing and producing more polyp heads every week.

MMMM....food!

I am surprised how often members feed their tanks. I only feed my tank about 3 times a week. I have 6 fish and lots of corals. They all seem to be doing great, been doing it for 4 years. Heck, when I go out of town they don’t get fed at all, sometimes up to 10 days. I must be a bad parent. Maybe that’s why my 4 year old blue tang is the size of a guppy. lol

If your tank is 4 years old, you can really cut back on the feedings (assuming of course its not a bare bottom, with 100X turn over lol) and let the tank do its thing. My 3 month old tank is already feeding some of my fish with pods and what not.

Something to think about.

I was kinda surprised ppl fed that much too..... of course there are fish that need to be fed more...

I feed my tank on mon..... wed.. and friday..... that's it.. I don't say it's the right way...... but it's the way i do it and it works for me
+1 i do the same thing and im not saying its the right way either... might be why my sps do great but my fish dont grow lol

if you have a healthy tank with large cleanup crew feed twice a day like the food company say on the canister or like me every once and while (every other day sometimes more some less)when you want to see some action or did that shrimp still alive fed tank there he is

i feed my tank about 3times a day i feed teh sailfin a square of sea weed and the clown eats flakes so what ever the clown dont eat the sailfin picks up or the cuc does..... but i feed once in the morning afternoon and before bed small amounts thoe but the sailfins a pig and is fat and huge.

Feeding Time

I feed once every day, but I alternate what I feed. One day I feed brine shrimp and mysis on the next day I feed zooplex. I also add calcium on day 3 of the rotation and stronium on day 6 or the weekly "schedule".
