I have an issue with brown algea which i got under control really with my phosphate reactor. I also have a big issue with green hair algae. I am sure the red slime algea exists as well lol. Will Chem Clean help me out??? if so can you guys post a link to buy it so i can get it right away lol?
I used it about 5 years ago after just setting up a system and worked well and never a problem after. Red slime algae (AKA Cyanobacteria) is not an actual algae but rather a bloom a certain strain of bacteria. It will thrive on the same thing that algae does however.

Did you make sure to take out all your carbon and other media and turn off your skimmer for 48 hours?
probably a good idea. The only thing I would say you need to do before using it is figure out what cuased it so there isnt a repeat after you use it. I would also recommend you increase the flow and cut your photo period down to only a couple hours during the treatment.

I used it a few months ago after bio-pellets caused all kinds of cynao in my tank
Disagree the pellets where the cause of your out break. I would agree once you had cyano in your tank that the pellets feed its growth. Vinegar, vodka or any carbon source would have the same result if cyano is present. Anyone adding a carbon source I would always recommend adding a secondary bacteria source other then the natural bacteria found in our aquariums to help minimize the chances for cyano. Most using a carbon source to feed the nitrifiers add a secondary bacteria source like Microbacter7, cycle or zeobak to reduce the chances and add competing bacteria to ward off nuisance strand of bacteria like cyano.

Well those weren't my suggestions, it says to take out carbon and turn off skimmer in the directions.

As for the other things, never knew what caused it, used the treatment and never had it again. I don't think there is always a logical explanation as to why you get it. I got it both times after adding new live rock to my tank.

Also, didn't increase flow, or cut down photo period, both times gone in one day, and never changed anything from my regular routine. I don't think either of those things are necessary with the treatment, and changing things in your tank might just make things stress out more.
when I said its probably a good idea that was me agreeing to taking the skimmer off line and to take out the carbon which is in the directions. Since the chemiclean reduces the oxgen levels in the water iincreasing the the flow will help for gas exchange while the skimmer is off. In addition Cyanobacteria photosynthesis and cutting out the light will help ensure its removal the first time while the chemical is in the water.
